Delta Airlines Comfort Plus

I was very fortunate to travel with Delta Airlines to The Travel South Conference in St Louis, Missouri. As the conference was in December, and there are no direct Delta services from Ireland to Atlanta that time of year, I chose to take Delta from Heathrow to Atlanta and onwards to St Louis.

My experience was really excellent from start to finish. To start with, The Delta App, available on most devices, is a must. As soon as you have made your booking with your Travel Agent 😉, download the app and pop in your reference. It will give you everything you need to manage and enhance your trip. A great way to countdown to your trip too! Check in and bag drop in Heathrow was seamless. I had a quick security check and then I used the kiosk to print my bag tag and off I went.

I was travelling Comfort Plus with Delta, an economy product with a difference. It gave me the added luxury of 3 inches of extra leg room seats, priority boarding, premium drinks and snacks, dedicated overhead bin space, pillow, blanket and amenity kit. The staff on board were very friendly and came round regularly with hot towels, bar service, ice cream and warm cookies! Even pizza thrown in before we landed! The aircraft was spotless in the seat area, gallery and bathroom area. There was a vast array of entertainment to watch - movies and TV alike.

I landed safe and sound in Atlanta and after immigration, I had a quick transfer to my flight to St Louis. An important note to mention, I did need to pick up my bag and drop it to the transfer belt for my onward flight. It is key to note that if you clear immigration in the US you will need to transfer your bag in Atlanta and some other airports before flying onwards. Another 1.5 hours of economy comfort plus and wonderful staff on board again. Beautiful sunset views as we took off from Georgia!!
