The Seaside Los Jameos Playa Hotel is one of the most modern and most attractive hotel resorts on the Canary Islands . It is made up of several buildings constructed in a style typical to this island, the architecture based on the style created by local artist Cesar Manrique which can now be seen everywhere on the island. The 55,000 m² (almost 500,000 sq. ft.) palm garden with a fantastic bathing landscape is much like an oasis that invites you to stay and relax a while.
Location
The Hotel Los Jameos Playa is located on the East coast of Lanzarote, directly along the mile-long, fine sand beach of the Playa de los Pocillos. 500 m (1,600 ft.) to the shopping centre; 2 km (a little more than a mile) to Puerto del Carmen; 5 km (3 miles) to the airport; 10 km (6 miles) to the capital at Arrecife (schedule bus service is available).
Accommodation
All rooms have either a balcony or a large lawn to relax in with a view either of the countryside, the ocean, the pool or the garden. All rooms also come with satellite TV/radio, telephone with direct dialling, if desired a minibar, air conditioning and a safe (for a charge). The large, modern baths are furnished with a bathtub/shower and toilet, blow dryer as well as, of course, a bathrobe service which can be collected at the reception.
Dining
A perfect holiday demands an exquisite cuisine. From the wide selection offered at the whole-food breakfast buffet to the theme buffets with show cooking and a barbecue in the main restaurant – the huge variety of Seaside buffets with select specialities can satisfy even the most demanding tastes. For the evening meal, the restaurant “La Tapa” which is only available on Fridays, offers a tempting alternative to the main restaurant. For lunch, a selection of light meals featuring specialities from the day's menu, is available. The afternoon tea party with tea, coffee and home-made cakes and bakery goods is a Seaside tradition. The Pool Bar is a popular meeting place where a wide selection of cocktails and refreshments is offered.
Ameneties
For tennis enthusiasts, the Los Jameos Playa offers ideal conditions. Four tennis courts (quartz sand) are available for guest use for a fee, two of them with floodlights for night play. The renowned “Peter Burwash International” Tennis School offers a variety of group courses and an opportunity for private lessons. There is one squash courts (for a charge). The animation programme is also quite varied. Whether it is shuffleboard, table tennis, miniature golf, diving courses, boccia, archery, shooting or beach volleyball, garden chess, billiards or darts you are looking for, the offer at the Los Jameos Playa will not allow one boring moment to arise. In addition, there are even several bridge tables available for your use. Lanzarote offers a myriad of sport opportunities from windsurfing, sailing, diving, snorkelling to water skiing, tennis, golf and bicycling to more exotic past-times such as paragliding, kite flying and sport plane flying. Sport-loving guests have it all open to them. There are also countless outings you can take, volcanic lava tunnels, a vast cactus plantation, tiny neighbouring islands where you can swim and relax, wine-growing valleys or the “Valley of a thousand palms”, sailing tours, submarine trips, and camel safaris. Finally, there is excellent entertainment awaiting you at the night club “El Belingo” with music and dancing until midnight and alternating shows and live music performances.
In order to take care of the smaller quests aged 4 to 12 years old, there is a baby pool, a children's pool with lovely playground, animation perfect for children of various ages, a mini-club, child disco and there are theme days such as an Indian day which make the Los Jameos Playa a dream of a hotel for children as well.
All Inclusive
The All Inclusive programme consists of breakfast (08:00-10:30), light lunch & snacks buffet (13:00-15:00) and dinner – different theme nightly (summer: 18:30-21:45, winter: 18:00-21:30), all buffet style with hot & cold dishes (waiter service for the drinks), served in the main restaurant. During meals local beer, house wine, national soft drinks or water are offered. Tea & coffee time with cakes is between 15:00 & 17:00 at the pool bar. Locally produced alcoholic & non-alcoholic drinks such as spirits (gin, vodka, rum, brandy, whiskey), 7up, cola, fanta orange, fanta lemon, bottled juice, water, tea, coffee, cappuccino, hot chocolate, etc. are served from 11:00-23:00 in all bars and at the restaurant (subject to relevant opening times).
Sport facilities at the hotel include mini-golf, gym, sauna (16:00-20:00), ping pong, shuffleboard, boccia, aerobics, volleyball, shooting competitions, power walking and evening animation like flamenco shows, magicians, acrobats and live music bands & singers.
